Snow Day in Texas – A photo essay

I’ve been at home for the past few days due to a major ice\sleet\snow storm here in Texas. The roads are pretty dangerous and work has been canceled everywhere so I’ve had plenty of time to take photos around my neighborhood. I can only go outside in 20 minute intervals though… it’s COLD – wind chills in the teens. Here’s what I came up with today:

It isn’t so much snow that sticks around – it’s Sleet.


The snow pretty much melts away and then reforms as ice


No plant – not the grass

or the palms could escape the ice

and trucks were both trapped by the ice
